94: Making Sabbath Practical: Wrestling with the Sabbath (Part 3), with Adam Petit

After two episodes of questions and honest struggle with the idea of Sabbath, Brett and Perry talk with someone who’s actually living it. Adam Petit is a husband, a father of three, an educator, and a self-described curious thinker, and he and his family have been practicing Sabbath for almost two years. He’s the first to admit he resisted the idea at first.

Adam shares what got his family started, what they’ve tried, what didn’t work, and how they’ve adjusted along the way. He covers the real-life challenges every family will recognize: Saturday sports, the never-ending to-do list, screens, bored kids, and who’s stuck cooking. He also gets to the deeper reason behind the practice, what it means to set aside a day to declare that God is God and we’re not, and the surprising fruit his family has seen.

If you’ve been nodding along with this series but wondering what Sabbath would actually look like in your home, this episode is for you.
